I met Andy (MARVEL Studios Director of Visual Development) and his wife, Ana on a trip to Mexico for La Mole in March 2018 on an excursion of the Teotihuacan Pyramids (with all of the shows guests). I had also met Sabine Rich soon after arriving in Mexico (Marvel and DC comic artist and colorist, also known for her colours with Frank Cho). The four of us got along really well together and naturally gravitated towards each other here and there for the duration of the trip.
Andy is honestly one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met. Absolutely love his sense of humour! I particularly remember the four of us meeting up in the foyer of the hotel we were at and just chatting away, laughing and having a great time together. It felt surreal.
I met Andy and Ana once again at San Diego Comic Con 2018. It was great to see them again.
With where KRS Comics had their booth set up (which I was guest at), we were among the art giants of the industry. We had J.Scott Campbell positioned in front to the left and Andy Park positioned opposite him and to the right of us. When things got quite busy on one of the days, I remember Ana coming over to ask if I would like some coffee, and not long after she brought some over. It was very sweet of her and I will always remember it.
It was later on after one of the show days at NYCC 2018 where Andy and I were chatting and I ended up joining him for dinner with the rest of the Marvel Studios visual team. This was a night I will never forget. I got to meet Ryan Meinerding, Charlie Wen, Anthony Francisco, Rodney Fuentebella, Jackson Sze and Adi Granov. All of who play lead roles in the visual development and character designs of the Marvel movies. What a night it was.
